“Our life is a chronology of upshots influencing us till our last breath or beyond that. And all our perceptions, thoughts, ideas and assumptions get stirred up whenever the causes of those effects are outside the tangible circle of our limited knowledge about our life and the universe of half known mysteries. Sometimes life shows us that there is a more complicated and lesser-known side of our own tiny world. And it leaves us shaken when our familiar theories collide head-on with the practical events we experience in our life.”

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a recent release by an Indian author in English. So I thought I’d take this up.
And this also the first time I’ve bought a Kindle eBook.
.
The book is the first of a two part series (I think) and focusses on two protagonists, Avipsa and Reyansh. You’d think that it’s a love story seeing the name of the book and the characters. It is that. Love is a part of it. But, more than that, it’s a psychological mystery.
The author succeeded in getting me gripped to the story till the end. The plot is really good. And it ended on a cliff hanger that got me hooked for the next one. A part of the story happened in Mysore, where I’ve been to, and the description of the Mysore Palace brought back memories. The language is simple, yet the prose is beautiful. The only problem is, I felt that the author overdescribed things at certain situations and left other situations bare.

I’d recommend this to anyone whose looking for a short, light yet gripping read.
